How to Love Yourself? A Chapter from my Book.

This Blog is an Abstract from my book “Art of Living a Self-Centered Life,” and this is just a glimpse of “How to Love Yourself”.

When I returned from the mountains last week, we had a meeting to record the reviews about our tour. Before the recording, I asked one of the tourists about his views (I had less interaction with him throughout those 9 days). “Was this even a tour or a waste of money? His counter-question shocked me. “What happened” I inquired curiously. “ I have been in Europe, the middle east, Egypt & turkey. I enjoyed every destination but didn’t enjoy this tour”.

Upon further questioning, he told me that the roads were not good, it was too cold there, I had to get up early every day, etc.

As far as I see, this trip was beautiful; we had plenty of time to do things. We did hike, explored forts, witnessed the beauty of a place known as the rooftop of the earth, felt the water flowing in lakes & even dived in the famous Indus River (India is named after Indus).

So, did you notice the contrast? I am happy with this experience as he is not. Yes, we had a few bad experiences due to the weather, but that doesn’t nullify everything.

The purpose of telling you this story is that you can’t enjoy anything in your life if you are not optimistic about it. Problems come; problems vanish. The only thing that matter is our point of view, for me it was a wonderful experience full of joy & healthy activities & for him it was just a humiliation.

There are two takeaways from this lesson. First, stop listening to the people who constantly criticize everything & for God’s sake, don’t ruin yourself by trying to change them. Keep yourself away from negative people to start thinking like the more joyous ones.

The second takeaway is to notice your behavior. If you also have the habit of criticizing everything, stop it straight away. Change your company, change your perspective & start looking good in everything. Even your challenges, which we hate most, come to upgrade us to the next level.

Be positive with yourself. Talk positively with yourself. Focus on what you say to yourself & others. Then be in the league of people who enjoy every moment (the plan of this book). Pay gratitude for everything, whether you like it or not. Please don’t complain about it. Please take it as a challenge & start being more significant than your stressor. Be your friend, not your enemy.
